Sidewalk Astronomy Night, YURI's Night and More!!
Why not celebrate Yuri's Night while you are out showing the night sky to the public? What better time to promote
your Astronomy Day activities? When will the public better understand dark sky issues than when they are at the
eyepeice? What better opportunity to contrast the starkness of the Moon with the fragile beauty of the Earth?
Most of us are involved in several astronomy clubs/organizations/activities and ISAN is the perfect time to promote those
activities as well as to remind the public that we are one people all viewing the night sky together. Take advantage of the
amazement they feel when seeing Saturn or the Moon and remind them of upcoming activities, events, and issues that are important
to us as amateur astronomers (dark skies, Earth's future, science education and awareness) and as members of a global
society (international cooperation, personal connections, trying to understand our place in the Universe, etc).
